Unconditional

Unconditional

When you think of unconditional love, who do you think of? Your parents, a sibling, a friend? Or maybe a spouse or a child? If you’re lucky you think of all these people in your life, but some can only think of a few, some can’t think of any…

Unconditional meaning “without conditions”, a love Stephen & Alicia Westonwithout conditions. It seems impossible to love without conditions, I love my Husband because of who he is, but if he drastically changed would I still love him? I’d try, but truly loving someone unconditional is like the love a parent has for a child, well at least most parents. No matter how the child changes throughout their life the parents can’t help but love them simply cause they are their child.

God is the ultimate parent, I never understood this until I got a small glimpse into parenthood and understood how you can love someone else so much, without conditions. God’s love is unconditional, a heavenly fathers love for his earthly children and then when you think his love can’t get any better he sends his heavenly son to die for us. Wow, that is an unimaginable sacrifice. And being a mother who has lost a baby, an incredibly painful one.

“See what kind of love the father has given unto us, that we should be called children of God.” – 1 John 3:1

Isn’t that what we’re all looking for, love without conditions. A love that knows no limits and no end. A God who makes us his treasure and gives us the desires of our heart.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” – Psalm 37:4
