The year 2017 has passed by so quickly, the beginning of our year Brought our five-year anniversary, I can’t believe it’s already been five years, it seems just like yesterday.

In February Sarah turned 13, my baby sister is a teenager! It makes me feel extremely old because I remember the day she was born. Later in February my husband’s sister Lauralee gave birth to a baby girl they named Anastasia, giving her and her aunt Jennifer the same birthday month. Also, in February my father was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and has had a rough year causing my family a lot of upset, please keep them in your prayers.

In March Stephen began building a small camp trailer we would take on a trip to South Dakota in May. At the end of March, we also bought our second car, a 2015 Subaru Outback. It’s a great car, Stephen loves driving it and love that I now have heated seats!

In April my grandfather Dick Privat died, all three of his sons were able to say “goodbye”. Even though there has been some difficulty between the brothers, the love they had for their father was heartwarming.

In May we began our trip to South Dakota were a good friend now lives and is close to Mount Rushmore which I have always wanted to see, so two birds with one stone! On our trip we also got to see Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Badlands National Park and a little bit of Glacier National Park as well as many other places like the reptile gardens in South Dakota, a visit to my uncle Richards family in Idaho where we went to an old gold mine, a cruise on lake Coeur d’Alene and explored other parts of northern Idaho.

In June I celebrated my 26th birthday and said goodbye to a high school friend who moved to Saipan for a two-year adventure.

July brought the two-year anniversary of the loss of our daughter, a day that time can never erase from my mind. We also were able to enjoy camp meeting with two nephews and a new little niece.

August didn’t bring anything special, then September brought Stephen’s 26th Birthday (Yes, I’m older than my husband) and the Wedding of a friend from high school to Stephen’s cousin. It was a beautiful wedding at Leoni Meadows.

In October fires started in Sonoma county causing fear and loss of life, it still saddens me to see what the fire has done. Later in that month I also lost my Grandma Sharon, my mother’s mom, she was 77 years old. In the Month of October against my objections Stephen bought a motorcycle, he has yet to be hospitalized but that doesn’t keep me from worrying.

November of course brought Thanksgiving, time with family and to stop and remember to be thankful.

December is not yet over, but so far, I’m loving it. Christmas is my favorite holiday, with all the Christmas lights and gifts what’s not to love!

To all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
